The NEXGEN Process
Most homeowners have never replaced a roof before. The process feels opaque — contractors show up, things happen, a bill arrives. You're never quite sure if what you paid for is what you got.
NEXGEN built an 8-step process specifically to eliminate that uncertainty. Every project follows the same documented sequence. Every step is communicated before it happens. Every homeowner knows exactly what to expect and when — before they sign anything.
This isn't a sales pitch. It's how we actually operate, on every job, every time.
What You Can Expect From Every NEXGEN Project
A project manager — not a salesperson — handles your job from inspection through closeout. You have one point of contact who knows your project, answers your questions, and is accountable for the outcome.
Every installation is fully permitted through the applicable municipality. The city inspector signs off before we consider the job complete. You receive a Certificate of Completion — a permanent public record that the work was done to code.
Every full replacement is backed by our 10-year workmanship warranty and, on qualifying Owens Corning systems, the Owens Corning Platinum Protection Limited Warranty — Limited Lifetime workmanship coverage and 50-year TRU PROtection with no depreciation.
Most jobs are complete in a single day. Your property is left cleaner than we found it.
A NEXGEN project manager comes to your home — not a salesperson. We perform a full inspection including drone aerial photography, surface condition assessment, granule loss check, flashing inspection, and attic ventilation review. You receive a written photo report with honest findings. If your roof can be repaired, we'll tell you. If it needs replacing, we'll show you exactly why. No pressure, no obligation.
You receive a detailed written proposal with full material specs, scope of work, and total cost — everything in plain English, no hidden fees. If you need financing, we walk you through all four plans through Service Finance Company right then. Rates from 9.99% APR, no prepayment penalties. See financing options →
Once you sign, we handle everything with the city. We pull the permit, submit the application, and manage the process entirely — you don't need to do a thing. Permit turnaround in the City of Jacksonville is typically 3–4 business days. Once the permit is in hand, your installation is scheduled — most projects are on the calendar within 1–2 weeks of signing. Your project manager keeps you updated at every stage.
Materials are delivered to your home ahead of the build date. On installation day, our crew places protective tarps over your landscaping, stages equipment, and prepares the work zone before a single shingle is touched. Your property is treated like ours.
We remove the old roofing system completely. Every inch of wood decking is inspected — any rotted, soft, or compromised boards are replaced to Florida Building Code before the new system goes on. We photograph everything. Before the new shingles go on, the City of Jacksonville conducts a dry-in inspection, verifying that all decking, underlayment, and nailing patterns meet code. The city signs off before installation proceeds. This step is where shortcuts typically happen. We don't take them.
We install a complete new roofing system — not just shingles on top of whatever was there. Every NEXGEN installation includes: new penetrations and boots, new ventilation, new underlayment, valley metal or peel-and-stick ice and water barrier, new flashings throughout, field shingles installed to manufacturer spec, and all new wood whether that's roof sheathing, fascia board, or any other carpentry identified during tear-off. Minimum four nails per shingle in Jacksonville's Wind Zone II. Full qualifying Owens Corning system on every OC installation — the requirement for Platinum Protection warranty access. Most homes are complete in one day.
We haul away all debris and run a magnet sweep for nails across your entire property — driveways, landscaping, lawn. Then we walk the finished roof with you. The city inspector arrives, reviews the work, and issues a Certificate of Completion — a permanent public record that the installation was done to code. This is the step many contractors skip. We never do.
Your Owens Corning warranty is registered in your name immediately. Your closeout package includes: Certificate of Completion, wind mitigation report, permit history, and warranty registration. The wind mitigation report documents your roof's wind-resistant features — required by Florida law for insurer premium credits. Keep everything. It matters at insurance renewal, at resale, and any time a question about your roof comes up. Full warranty details →
One point of contact from inspection to closeout. Not a call center — a person who knows your project.
Every installation is permitted through the applicable municipality. City inspector signs off before we call it done.
Before, during, and after. Every step photographed. You see exactly what was found and what was done.
Industry standard is 1–2 years. Every full replacement is backed by our 10-year warranty. Details →
Full property sweep after every job. Driveways, lawn, landscaping. You shouldn't find a single nail after we leave.
Certificate of Completion, permit history, and warranty registration included. Wind mitigation report available upon request.
Why We Document Everything
The roofing industry's reputation problem is mostly a documentation problem. Contractors make verbal promises, skip permits, and disappear. When something goes wrong, there's no record of what was done, what materials were used, or who was responsible.
NEXGEN documents every step — photos before tear-off, photos of the decking, photos during installation, photos of the completed system. You receive a full closeout package: permit history, warranty registration, and Certificate of Completion (wind mitigation report available upon request). That documentation matters at insurance renewal, at resale, and anytime a question about your roof comes up.
It also means we're accountable. When everything is documented, there's no ambiguity about what was done or how.
