Community Comes Together: NexGen Roofing's 3rd Annual San Jose Elementary Workday Transforms School Campus
The sounds of laughter, the buzz of power tools, and the spirit of community service filled the air at San Jose Elementary School on Saturday, July 26th as NexGen Roofing hosted its 3rd Annual San Jose Elementary Workday. From 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, volunteers of all ages gathered at San Jose Elementary to beautify and upgrade the campus for the upcoming school year.
A Morning of Purpose and Pride
The event kicked off bright and early with volunteers fueled by a breakfast provided by the NexGen Foundation. Families, community members, and NexGen team members rolled up their sleeves for a morning dedicated to creating a more inspiring learning environment for San Jose Elementary students.
The diverse group of participants reflected the vibrant character of Jacksonville's San Jose Elementary community, with volunteers ranging from young children eager to help to seasoned community members sharing their expertise.
Transforming Spaces, Building Connections
Throughout the four-hour event, volunteers tackled various campus beautification and upgrade projects. Some improvements include building a gazebo for the PE program, reinvigorating the community gardens and painting murals around the school, painting the sidewalk with inspirational quotes for the kids, and wrote over 100 thank you notes to the teachers of SJE. The collaborative effort showcased the power of community partnership, with NexGen Roofing's leadership in organizing the event complementing the enthusiasm of local families and supporters.
The NexGen Foundation ensured volunteers stayed energized throughout the morning, providing not only breakfast but also lunch for all participants. Each volunteer received a commemorative NexGen Foundation t-shirt as a token of appreciation for their service.
Celebrating Community Impact
The workday featured spotlight speakers who emphasized the importance of education and highlighted the ongoing partnership between NexGen Roofing and San Jose Elementary. Exciting raffle giveaways added an element of fun to the day, creating smiles and building excitement among participants.
We would like to give a special thanks to England-Thims & Miller, Inc., JAX Chamber - NEXTUP JAX, and The Deerwood Rotary for their tremendous involvement throughout this workday. Without the support of the community, none of this would possible. We have raised thousands of dollars to fund this project and will continue to raise funds for the school directly.
A Legacy of Service
This third annual workday represents NexGen Roofing's continued commitment to community service through the NexGen Foundation. The Jacksonville roofing company has established this annual tradition as a cornerstone of their community outreach efforts, demonstrating that business success and community investment go hand in hand.
As volunteers packed up their tools and said their goodbyes, the transformed campus stood as a testament to what can be accomplished when community members come together with a shared purpose. The students of San Jose Elementary will return to a more beautiful, functional learning environment thanks to the dedication of these community volunteers.
For those inspired by this community service model, NexGen Roofing continues to accept donations to support future community initiatives through their foundation at nexgenfl.com/sanjosedonate.
The success of this year's workday already has organizers and participants looking forward to next year's event, ensuring that this tradition of community service and school support will continue to flourish in Jacksonville.
